What is Double Eyelid Surgery?
Popular among Asians, double eyelid surgery is a form of cosmetic eyelid surgery that produces an extra crease on the upper eyelid.
There are typically two popular forms of double eyelid surgery:
Incisional Method (Cutting)
This incisional or cutting method is the more common type of eyelid surgery. As its name suggests, the procedure involves cutting into the skin of the eyelid and stitching it to the underlying muscle, forming a natural-looking crease. The cutting method is also popular for its ability to trim excess skin from drooping eyelids, remove unwanted fats, and even pull the lids open wider to create bigger eyes.
Incisional Method (Cutting)
Rather than cutting the skin, the newer nonincisional method involves the strategic placement of certain stitches to create a more natural double eyelid look. It is usually suited for patients with littleto-no excess skin on the eyelids.

- As the procedure is non-invasive and requires no incisions, non-incisional eyelid surgery is much quicker to complete, leaves minimal scars, and has a much quicker recovery time with less pain involved.
